Shipping policy

1. Shipping Rates and Calculations

Shipping costs for Stouman orders are not flat-rate and are calculated dynamically at checkout. The final shipping fee is determined based on two primary variables:

  • Geographic Region: The destination country, state, or territory to which the order is being shipped.

  • Package Weight: The total combined weight of the items in your order, including all necessary protective packaging materials.

Stouman reserves the right to adjust shipping rates without prior notice to reflect changes in carrier fees or regional surcharges.

2. Fulfillment, Transfer of Risk, and Limitation of Liability

Stouman operates utilizing a trusted third-party production and fulfillment model. This section governs the strict boundaries of our liability regarding the physical transit of goods:

  • Transfer of Responsibility: Upon placement of an order, the request is routed to our third-party production company. The moment Stouman transfers custody of the product(s) to the production company and/or logistics carrier, the risk of loss, damage, and title to the goods passes entirely to the customer.

  • Limitation of Liability: Stouman shall not be held liable, legally or financially, for any occurrences after this handoff. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Production delays or backlogs.

    • Carrier transit delays, severe weather disruptions, or customs holds.

    • Lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged packages.

    • Incorrect delivery addresses provided by the customer at checkout.

Legal Notice to Customers: Any claims regarding items damaged in transit, non-delivery, or packages marked as "delivered" but not received must be filed directly with the respective shipping carrier or production partner. Stouman does not issue refunds, credits, or replacements for packages lost or damaged post-production transfer.

3. Order Tracking and Delivery Estimates

While Stouman provides estimated delivery windows at checkout, these are estimates only and do not constitute guaranteed delivery dates.

Once your order has moved from the production phase to the carrier network, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing a tracking number or a notification in the Shop App (by Shopify Inc). Please use this tracking number to monitor your shipment and coordinate directly with the carrier if delivery issues arise.

4. International Shipments, Customs, and Duties

For shipments outside of our primary production zones, the customer acts as the Importer of Record.

  • You are solely responsible for ensuring the product can be lawfully imported to the destination country.

  • Any additional charges for customs clearance, import duties, taxes, or brokerage fees must be borne entirely by the customer. Stouman has no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be.
